Success-now.us back on track

After seemingly unsurmountable difficulties with the success-now website, A-Records, DNS problems, etc. I think I may finally have pushed through this particular barrier by transferring the domain to GoDaddy and setting up hosting with them.

Just completed account setup. It will take approx 24 hours to see if that is going to work, and if I can just upload previous content to the site - especially the MySQL DBs.

Scrivener & Kaffeehaus

It's been a busy week. A lot going on. Just trying out Scrivener, software for the Mac especially for writers. Very impressed with first 20 minutes with the video tutorial and quick exploration. Cool features like note card-style outlining that can be transformed into sequential text, separate window for any multimedia resource files - can be open at the same time you are writing. More to come!

Just discovered a new coffeehouse - more in the European tradition - well designed and spacious. The best coffee I have had in about 20 years!

Also, just ordered a canvas print (my first one) of one of my digital pieces. 8 days to deliver.

Back in the studio

Yep, that's right. Just got the keys yesterday, and will be setting up shop this weekend at the studio in the Medical Arts building, 3rd and Ellsworth in San Mateo.

Since the removation of our condo is moving into final stages, I have to give up my closet desk/studio area, and turn it back into a closet.

So, the studio becomes more of a necessity than a luxury. Also, I am starting to experiment with charcoal drawing - and it tends to be messy. Not good for the soon-to-be-new carpets.

Tomorrow night is the first public showing of my artwork. At the PlaynTrade (206 S B Street) event as part of the Third Thursday Artwalk. 6 - 8 pm. Myself and 3 other artist rotating on two HD Tv screens for two hours! So Cool!

The PlaynTrade video

Quite a while since my last post, but a lot has happened. SPOWPA has produced a DVD-length video for presentation at an event at the PlaynTrade video store on B street in San Mateo. The video displays selected artwork from myself and three other artists - Jacquelyn Berl, Maria Elwood and Kate Adams. I am truly honored to be in their company. Final cut is due in the next few days. Will place a link in the next post as soon as I get it.

I produced several new pieces especially for the video - in a 9x16 (letterbox) format - since the video wil be shown on wide flat-screen TVs. Here are a couple of samples -

Aqua Aphrodite & new website

Created this one yesterday, while having a bad time with a cold. Looks like the worst is over.

Did a fast remake of my website using iWeb on the (gasp!) Mac. Fairly intuitive, well-written help, possibly best web creation program for a novice that I've seen - and I've tried a lot of them. Now to get into a regular habit of posting to my blog!

Firewalker

Maybe 15 to 20 years I go I went to a firewalking ceremony. This image brought back memories of that experience. Although I have since read plenty of explanations for the phenomena, it was a seminal experience for me, moving me through fears around what was possible for me to do and accomplish.

This is also an experiment in getting the right sized image into this blog. The above picture is 500 x 600 pixels.

Enjoy-mint

This is actually from February 5th, but I wanted to put this one up on the blog today.  I am very lucky  or blessed or something just to know joy and to continue to have joy in my life. Sure I could use some more of it, but I have enough to want to share it with others. OMG - and that just creates more joy in me and so on. SO COOL!

Shield of Rage

Today's creation. Using Gimp on the Mac, and finishing up with Photoshop because there are still some basic techniques I haven't figured out how to do yet with Gimp.

Figured out how to link these images to my gallery, so that you can click on the picture and it will display a large image on my gallery site. Then clicking on that image will allow purchase of a print. One size only, but contact me for other sizes and formats.
